Poetry, an overall view

Poetry and poems is basically a shorter way of expressing yourself using words very smartly. It's like writing a story using minimum words. there are definitely lot of persons that write poems or jumble some words on a paper without knowing that it does carry some format at times. So in this blog, I'm just gonna take the time out to analyze some of the major formats used in poetry.

1) The first and most popular form is the alternate rhyming at the end. this is quite easy to catch if you are a writer. if fact, some of the most eloquent poems are written this way.. here is an example of one done by me.

Happy Mother's Day

Nine months you battered and toiled
To bring forth this innocent me;
For years you washed me, my nappies you fold,
It may be long, but memories never goes bleak.

You ensure I was nurtured and clean
And ensure I have good courtesies from within,
You Ensure I was educated,
Mom you didn't have to do any of these.

No one can take your place
You should be rewarded on high.
Many neglect to give their children care,
But not you, it didn't even cross your mind.

Thank you for all your toils,
This day was made for you.
Prosperity and endurance shall always be your choice,
Every step you take will be so true.

May you’re very days be longer
In all your works, you’ll prosper
because to me, you’re the greatest thing to life
This day was made for you. The greatest thing about life.
Happy Mother's Day.

Notice how the words has elegantly rhythm at the end. Its rhythm is AB, AB. Thats why its alternate

ABC
A poem that has five lines that create a mood, picture, or feeling. Lines 1 through 4 are made up of words, phrases or clauses while the first word of each line is in alphabetical order. Line 5 is one sentence long and begins with any letter. This example was made up by me.

Alter my senses, oh sweet thy taste
Behold i wrenched, when looked upon your face;
Clauses of life will never get my fate
Drilling my love to you is never a fate
Just love me honey, because its pure and true.

This one is a beautiful ABC poem. The lines just matches all there is to it and it does makes perfect sense. Lets check another popular one.

Romanticism

A poem about nature and love while having emphasis on the personal experience. This is also popular as well in teenage writings because of their whole love searching concept. check this beautiful love verse written by Lori Nauma

Love Letter

A fire that is carefully stoked and tended will not burn out.
It will blaze so brightly that its warmth lingers in your heart.
It will beckon your tired soul and embrace you in its radiance.
The familiar smell of its smoke can bring a wistful smile,
and the occasional blast of fireworks can take your breath away.
Its sizzle can enthrall you; its flickering flames entrance you.
The glowing embers provide comforting heat,
and the knowledge that a subtle movement or gentle breeze
can rekindle a bonfire.
My love, the spark that ignited the day we met
remains an eternal flame.

Very very beautiful. this poem definitely deserves to be a good one. It definitely defines romanticism without doubt.

And finally is the ever popular Sonnet. Shakesphere dominate this type of poetry. It normally has 14 line and has one or more rhythm schemes.

Nicoya Mckella

Now I look in the mirror
I see a beautiful me.
Count my fingers, check my soul,
Oh, how lovely the lord made me.
Yea the lord is with me in sorrows,
All close to my heart, he never leaves me

Mountains will come my way
Can anyone tell me why? But
Keep my love close lord, not far in a hut;
Endless love I'd always share.
Like eagles that roam the sky,
Love, its all my heart wants to bear,
All I do is pleasing, thats why.

This is perfectly a wonderful sonnet. It basically has at least two rhythmic schemes and its of course a masterpiece made by me. Also, the first word of each line is the exactly the title of the poem.
